Conceptual photography study focused on the intentional documentation of modernist and brutalist gallery architecture. The project’s core challenge was to transform vast, concrete spaces into graphic compositions that highlight geometry, scale, and negative space. The goal was to remove emotional context and focus purely on the structural authenticity of the design, treating architecture as sculptural form.
The refined aesthetic is defined by a rigorous, high-contrast black and white palette. Our process utilized extreme directional lighting (both harsh natural and focused internal light) to create deep, sharp shadows that emphasize vertical and horizontal lines. This meticulous control of light and shadow was paramount to conveying the monumental scale and the graphic simplicity of the modernist materials.
